Prompted by the time workers in the sector was held on October 29 a meeting of the category of social workers called by the RSU. Meeting was attended by about 50 AASS over one hundred employees by the City. The discussion of the difficult situation of the class caught between the heavy cuts in resources and gender policies of local welfare, and the pressing, ever-increasing demands from a citizen in trouble and increasingly seeking help. The situation is further exacerbated by questionable choices and organizational merits by the municipal administration, mixing populism and lack of clarity about the objectives, seems more concerned with protecting its image to ensure maximum effectiveness of social policies, perhaps even downloading AASS on the responsibility of deficiencies, non-response, increasingly long waiting lists, bureaucracy exhausting. The AASS
present at the meeting agreed to launch an initiative to mobilize against this state of affairs, by the AC to get a serious and profound modest choices we have made up in terms of welfare, greater involvement in the definition of the category of social policies, improved working conditions and professional.
